Default Saving Tyria??

This has been mentioned many times, however I would like to add my ten cents (or whatever value the expression uses )

Firstly, thank you ANet for supplying a great game, for listening to us players in order to produce such an amazing game supported purely by sales alone. Thank you!

Here is my qualm. I have been playing GW for around the two year mark now, however, i recently bought a new prophecies only account in a bid to `freshen` up the game for me, by returning to the nostalgia of Tyria.

However, i feel as if Tyria has been slightly neglected. Whilst both Cantha and Elona are receiving many updates, especially new pets, tyria is still left in the shadows, awaiting a revival of some sort. Yes, we had a few greens a while back, but in essence everything is still the same old Tyria, which is good in many ways, but bad in others...

Firstly, why not introduce a green item dropping boss within both FOW and UW respectively? In order to quash the solo farming builds, nuke both places to encourage teamwork and have some nice skinned greens available for the ensuing efforts of those willing to invest time.

Secondly, running on from my first point. With the introduction of the new chapters, new skills have been implemented which make tyria a breeze when challenged with the new skills. A radical update of monsters skills needs to be implemented to recapture the old times, where groups reigned supreme and heroes were non-existant. Don`t get me wrong, the heroes are a great idea, but currently they are over-used, thus destroying the basis of MMO (Sorrow`s furnace por en example)

Also, i know this is a huge ask. But maybe some new armour updates for the existing chapters? Tyrian armour has become a bit Britney Spears, once nice to look at, now hideous through age. Vintage is not always best, maybe a new set of armour for each profession?

Finally, the pet system? Factions and NF players are receiving various tournament special pets? Maybe a Euro-American prize pet for new player help etc??

Thanks for your time

First off, I have no idea what updates you seem to think Elona and Cantha have been getting. The only one was the Domain of Anguish.

Nuke both places to encourage teamwork? I don't think I understand what you mean by nuke. If you simply meant adding a green boss by nuke, that wouldn't affect solo builds at all- they can just go around. Also, I don't see what you have against people soloing or how changing UW/FoW would be a Tyrian revival.

What exactly is the nature of this "update" to make monsters harder somehow? And groups never reigned supreme, before heroes existed hench reigned.

I think a lot of the Tyrian armors are the best in the game. A lot of the newer ones just seem like they're trying too hard and they're too busy/cluttered. I'd say the 15k necrotic is the most detailed armor in the game.

As for the pet thing, special events are tailored to respective regions. When the asian territories were still some what new, they wanted to encourage players to help make an extremely inviting atmosphere to bring in new players. The territories that have been around since the beginning have far too many players already for that to work properly here. We get magazine minis instead.

Tyrian armor has some of the best looks, but I don't think people use them enough because they are inferior in stats, insignia for all campaigns is another topic though.

I mean upgrading the monsters in order to make UW and FOW more challenging and hence, to increase teamwork amongst onliners. The example I used was Sorrows furnace. For example, we used to run the 4man builds in Sorrows, now it can be ran solo with a few heroes, hence people are playing together less. And the solo Ele in UW. I would like to see more encouragement towards group play and togetherness, to strengthen the community. The main reason i came back to GW was due to the many friends i made whilst partying. (and i never EVER used henchies for either UW, FOW or Sorrows, if you managed to... congratulations on that). Thus, to strengthen these areas respectively would encourage people to conjure new group formations to deal with the upgrade, thus encouraging teamplay...

As for the green boss, this had nothing to do with strengthening the monsters, just an addition to give people in Tyria an extra incentive to complete UW in full, with a new unique skin...

I would make many changes in the Prophecies territories, but the main one os this:

Make all the elite skills that you can get only inside missions available somewhere else.

There are many lvl +20 monsters around with no elite, make them deal double damage like they do in Factions and Nightfall, change their spawns so they appear with some high level scorts, and give them copies of elites you can get only inside missions.

If they make this in some 'abandoned' areas, like The Falls, it would be a great reason to go there for more that the 'Explorer' title.

While i think Tyria could be buffed a little to deal with heros, the problem is that Proph only chars dont have heros. This means that people that buy game one and just learning the ropes are screwed. As far as making it more "party" oriented, and having us play with other players more. I liked having heros for the opposite reason. Olias wont rage quit on me during a mission. Dunkoro wont go running off the wrong way cause he saw something shiny. As far as new green.....why? There are few greens now that are useful, they are just nice to look at. On your comment on armor, I agree with Sith, proph has some of the best looking armor around. It would be nice to use insignias but even that isnt a problem to me.

so since I am done ranting.
